Hiya! Thank you for visiting my site!
Growing up, I was always considered the creative in my family. I loved writing, I loved drawing, I loved gluing stuff together... and this led to me receiving such honors as becoming the go-to person for crafting homemade birthday, anniversary, and get well cards (as well as any other event related creative project) for anyone and everyone.
My love of art started at a young age, but was developed further by the encouragement of my family, most notably my maternal grandparents who enjoyed taking me to various art museums and exhibits to nurture my creativity. I was always impressed with the skill level of some of the classic painters, particularly the portraits of people who looked so real that you could almost see them move. I remember thinking to myself, "I want to do that." And while I have yet to learn the particular art of oil painting, I like to think that I've honed a bit of that ability in my pencil portraits.
My passion for graphic design started a bit later. When I was in high school, I had the wonderful experience of working on my yearbook in my senior year. My love of creating via computer hasn't ceased from my life in the 15 years since. As computers evolve and the software develops, there's always something new and interesting that I can learn and apply to my work. That fascination keeps my interest piqued and my art constantly evolving.
Along the way I've also been able to incorporate my photography skills and learn the aspect of computer designing that is specific to photography and what it takes to turn a snapshot into a portrait. This interest has allowed me to work alongside a couple of professional photographers, gaining experience and developing my skills.
I really enjoy trying new and different projects, fitting pieces together to create something new and interesting, being a part of a highly creative community, and the endless options that come along with digital crafting and designing.
This field is highly competitive, but it never gets old or ceases to add wonder and joy to my life.
And I'm still the go-to person for homemade cards. They just look a little more professional these days. ;)
